Become part of the Honors Institute discussion

Rod RisleyTo all members, advisors, regional coordinators and alumni delegates to the Honors Institute,

During my opening remarks, I challenged each of you to define in your own words the meaning of “the Paradox of Affluence.” I asked each of you to revisit your initial thoughts at the conclusion of the week to measure whether the Honors Institute experience had changed your thinking. With my being unable to attend beyond the opening session I am very interested in the progression of your thoughts about the topic and your experiences.

Please take a moment to share your reflections on the Honors Institute from your own individual growth experience.

Were your preconceived notions about the topic affirmed or changed?

As you listened to others with differing viewpoints and reactions from you own, how did you react?

Were your deeply held thoughts positively challenged, affirmed and/or broadened. Did you change from the experience? If so, how?

If you realized the experience altered your thinking, when did it become apparent?

Take a moment to describe your feelings upon your return home. Do you feel you have new understanding of important and timely topics and an increased appreciation for differing viewpoints?

Honors in action…. how will your Honors Institute experience benefit others?

- Rod Risley, Executive Director
